Today was a GREAT day to ski. But the trails were nearly empty at Lapland Lake in Benson, NY. The weather man had done scared off all the pilgrims with the terrible cold forecasted. Well it is going to be cold... tonight! But today the sun was shining and the snow was groomed to perfection. (Nice job as always Olavi !)
Lapland Lake Ski area is simply the friendliest, best groomed and just all a round fun place to ski and hang out. I'm psyched they're in my drainage.

The Drainage: Rain. Snow. Watershed. Water flowing into creeks, streams and rivers. Ponds, Lakes, Seas, Oceans. A place where I live and find peace. A place of reverence in the Adirondack Mountains.

The Drainage
The Drainage refers to a local whitewater paddling area. It can be a discreet location. A place where locals congregate. A place of reverence. It can progresses outward like concentric circles to overlap other river drainages.
This Blog is from my Drainage. A place where I live and find peace. This is where I learned to paddle and eventually paddled the majority of the creeks and rivers. However, this blog is not just about paddling or even paddling 'In the Drainage.' I would like to include stories about my Labrador Retrievers, travel, biking, fishing, equipment reviews of what I have found to be useful or indispensible. and just being outdoors.
